London Revolution

SAFE AND SECURE IN 2022

The latest news regarding COVID-19

LAST UPDATED: 26/08/2021

Our main priority is to ensure that all participants have the best possible chance of completion their ride or trail at the London Revolution event without detracting from the overall event experience.

Therefore, the summary below gives an overview of what will be in place on the event in September.

PRE-EVENT

Health declaration & screening to ensure minimal risk within the group

All participants and their friends & family, crew, suppliers and volunteers will be asked to complete a COVID-19 Health Declaration form.

This form will be live 48 hours prior to the event and shared to all parties via email ahead of the event. A paper copy of the form will be available on site at each entry point to the event.

On completion of the online COVID-19 Health Declaration form, an email will be sent in response. If the email has green text, the person who has completed the form will be able to enter the site. Those with a red text email will be refused entry.

This will be checked at the first touch point of the event, whether this is a shuttle or at the start location for that individual.

Suppliers arriving at sites before the live dates will show this to the Site Manager.

LIVE EVENT

Extra sanitising measures

Additional hand sanitisers will be positioned on all sites and pit stops and regularly restocked.

Hygiene signage
Additional hygiene will be present at all basecamps and pit stops

Face Coverings
In line with government guidance, face coverings are no longer mandatory. However, we will fully respect anyone’s right to wear one if they feel more comfortable. Crew members will wear masks if they are involved in food service roles.

Participant Briefings
Participant briefings will be shared online ahead of the event.

Food and Catering

Instead of the traditional buffet, all meals will now be served by a member of the catering team and/or crew.

Tea and Coffee will still be self-service with minor adjustments such as individual sachets.

Pit Stop food will be mainly wrapped and any chopped fruit will be handed out with tongs.

Massage
There will be no massage element this year. Instead, Yoga and Pilates instructors will run sessions in dedicated stretch zones.

Spectators
Supporters will be able to attend the main sites only; Start, Basecamp and the Finish. Supporters will not be able to attend Pit Stops.

If meeting friends and family along the route riders will be advised to continue to take precautions around COVID-19 to minimise the risk of infection.

Crew Welfare
In order to protect the integrity of the team the following will be put in place
• Lateral flow test before arriving on site
• Onine COVID-19 Health Declaration form to be completed
• Travel in the same vehicles each day, with the same crew members and wearing masks
• Work in smaller bubbles where possible – i.e., pit stop teams
• Limit movement of crew around different roles

Medical Area
This will be a stand-alone marquee and not linked to the massage. The medical marquee will have its own isolation space and toilet.

INFECTION MANAGEMENT
If a participant presents to the medical team with suspected COVID-19 symptoms, they will be required to do the following:

• Immediately self-isolate in our isolation bay within the medical area
• Take lateral flow test (LFT) administered by the medical team
• If the LFT is positive, arrange for their own repatriation as swiftly as possible and ask to leave the site
• The above is also applicable for crew

Repatriation
Participants will be advised that they must arrange their own repatriation.

A note on other Threshold events: Each of our events brings with it a unique set of operational considerations around COVID risks. These are particularly affected by format, location, scale and date. As it stands, we are planning on running all of our other events on the original published dates. As with London Revolution, we will update you as soon as anything changes. You can also find our latest updates on our dedicated COVID-19 website pages that are updated regularly.
